Butter Braid orders will be ready for pick up after the Holiday Concert on Sunday December14th.
The Band Concert will be held Sunday, December 14th, at 5:00 pm in the High School Gym. Students will need to be in place and ready to warm-up at 4:30 pm. Please dress appropriately, no shorts or blue jeans unless it is absolutely necessary. The concert will feature the Beginner Band, Middle School Band and the High School Band.
Band Boosters are raffling a 21 HP John Deer lawnmower with a landscape trailer along with hand made crafts; dinner for 4 at Mr. Gattis-Seguin (3 chances to win); $50.00 gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse and a Ratchet & Screwdriver set. Raffle tickets are $10.00 each or 6 for $50.00. Tickets can be obtained at all home football games, Marion Trade Days, or by contacting any booster member. 5th Annual Hornet Invitational Marching Contest @ East Central Results (9-27-08): The Marion Bulldog Band competed in the 5th Annual Hornet Invitational Marching Contest today. We competed along with 4 other bands in the 3A division: Cuero, Marion, Poteet, Hondo, and Crystal City. The Bulldog Band sounded and looked great as they performed their show. The results were: First Place: Crystal City Second Place: Hondo Third Place: Marion Best Drumline: Hondo Best Colorguard: Marion 16th Annual Capital City Marching Band Festival (10-4-08): October 4th, 2008, the Marion High School Marching Band and Colorguard competed in the Class A division of the 16th Annual Capital City Marching Band Festival. Marion High School Marching Band and Colorguard placed 4th out of 10 bands in the Class A Division. Somerset Bulldog Marching Showcase (10-11-08) On October 11, 2008, the Marion Bulldog HS Marching Band competed in the Somerset Bulldog Marching Showcase in the 3A division. There were 7 bands and 3 divisions. In the 3A division there results were as follows: 1st Place: Marion HS 2nd Place: Lytle HS Outstanding Horn Line: Marion HS Outstanding Colorguard: Marion HS Outstanding Drum Major: Marion HS Outstanding Drumline: Marion HS Outstanding Marching: Marion HS UIL Region Marching Competition – (10-21-08) Straight 1s and advanced to UIL Area Marching Competition UIL Area Marching Competition – (10-25-08) In the first round of 25 bands, placed 7th, putting Marion HS Band into the top 10.
